While it’s my duty as Kitchn’s Unofficial Costco Critic to peruse the wide warehouse aisles in search of the best deals, hottest new products, and just-for-fun bulk buys, it’s also my pleasure. On a recent visit, I spotted the single best product I’ve seen all year for parents — and I can’t keep it to myself any longer. The best thing parents can buy right now at Costco is The Ice Cream Party Box.

The Easiest Ice Cream Social Ever

As a work-from-home mama to two elementary school-aged kids, I field snack requests from the moment their feet hit the floor each morning until after their sun-soaked heads rest on their pillows at night. Additionally, I’m constantly looking for ways to entertain the kids … with fun activities that might even create lasting memories. That’s why I was so delighted to find this box of ready-to-go ice cream party supplies.

This box has almost everything you need to throw an easy ice cream party with neighbors and friends. In it you’ll find 12 waffle cones, 20 cups, 24 spoons, a 24-ounce bottle of Hershey’s chocolate syrup, Nerds rainbow candies, mini gummy bears, M&M candies, mini Oreo cookies, rainbow sprinkles, and mini marshmallows.

Ice cream isn’t included in the box, so at almost $18, the party box is a little pricey. I justify this not only as a splurge for my kids, but also a nice parent hack. I’m not likely to come up with the cool idea to throw a random ice cream party. The micro-decisions that go into setting one up can overwhelm my already-tired brain: I don’t have the energy to choose between cake or waffle cones and rainbow sprinkles or chocolate ones! But this party box makes it easy to turn all of those decisions into a single simple choice that is absolutely worth it. Truly a party in a box, the kids don’t have to know how easy it was to pull together. And won’t it be fun to think back on that time when we had a mini ice cream party for no real reason?
