This One-Pan Baked Oatmeal Recipe Will Change How You Do Weekday Breakfasts
There’s nothing like a hearty bowl of oatmeal to start a day, but prepping this healthy and filling meal can often be time-consuming or complicated. Though it’s possible to get our oats in other ways — from tasty bread to delicious pancakes — sometimes, what we truly want is just an easier and more streamlined way to make that bowl of oatmeal on a busy morning.
If this mimics how you’ve been feeling lately, Feel Good Foodie shared a fast and easy recipe on Instagram for one pan oatmeal that seems to be exactly what we’ve been looking for all along. “This one pan oatmeal is so quick and easy — just dump, mix, and bake!” she wrote in the caption.
This simple recipe begins by fork mashing ripe bananas in a greased cooking dish, before adding rolled oats, chia seeds, and milk to the pan. You can use almond milk to keep this recipe plant-based, but any type of milk you prefer is going to work here.
Next, add your favorite berries. This recipe calls for frozen blueberries and lemon zest, but it can be fun to switch things up with strawberries, raspberries, or whatever other flavors you enjoy.
Then bake in a preheated 350°F oven until all the liquid is absorbed, which should take about 25 minutes. Then, if you’d like a sweet topping, you can finish with a drizzle of maple syrup and enjoy!
