In this season of salads, we’ve seen quite a few celebrities spill the lettuce on what’s in their summer dishes. While the go-to summer salads from Adele and Jennifer Aniston have been on repeat in our own kitchens, now funny man Jimmy Fallon has joined the list. During a recent TikTok, he paired up with two young sous chefs (daughters Winnie Rose, 8, and Frances Cole, 7) to recreate French chef Jacques Pépin’s fruit salad as a refreshing side dish or snack.

Summertime staples seem to be the newest passion for the late-night talk-show host, who opened up on the November 8 episode of his show, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, telling viewers that Martha Stewart taught him how to pickle vegetables last summer.

To make the fruit salad, the trio begins by adding blueberries and raspberries in a bowl, followed by pomegranate seeds. While the girls enthusiastically open up sugar packets (after a quick warning from dad to not eat all the sugar) and sprinkle them onto the fruit, Fallon comically begins to zest the lemon with “this grater that you bought once and never used.” Frances helps with a quick lemon juicing, as dad rips fresh mint leaves and tosses them into the fruit mixture along with the juice and sugar.

After trying a blueberry from the salad, Fallon exclaimed that it was the best thing he has ever tasted in his life. “My head is gonna blow off.” You might say he definitely enjoyed the fruits of their labor.
