I’ve never been one to mourn the end of summer (who am I, right?), but summer 2021 feels a little different. It started sooner than I imagined it would and will be coming to a close before I’m ready, but that’s what trips to Target are for.

While my favorite parts of sweater-weather season default — without fail — to leggings, boots, cardigans and ponchos, which I can always count on Target fashion racks to provide, I’m even more pumped about the home goods we can shop right now. From garlands guaranteed to turn the hygge factor up to cozy creature comforts that promise ALL the weekend morning snuggles, these new items will make you fall hard … Sorry, I just had to.

Read on for 10 of the best new arrivals at Target. If you see something you 😍, don’t wait; the good stuff is going fast. I’ve already personally bought out the bulk of the Christian Robinson for Target Collection. But that’s just me!

How many quilts and blankets have your kids turned into capes, tents, and everything in between? Us too. This colorful throw was kind of made for that open-ended play, though. The blanket is reversible, giving them two colorblocked options for display (and mixing up the look of their bedding, for whatever mood they’re in), and since it spans 5 feet long and just over 4 feet wide, it’s just the right size for curling up on the couch.

It also reminds us of the parachutes we all used to play with at play gym classes!

This chalkboard butterfly officially makes our hearts flutter. It’s easy to mount on the wall and has a simple black and natural wood color palette that lets it blend into any room setup. For me, it also brings back lots of memories of fall semester homecoming; I think it’s the wings — they’re reminiscent of pennant flags. Surprise your children with this little one in their rooms on the first day of school, and use the chalk to keep writing motivational messages throughout the year. After all, you’re their biggest cheerleaders!

We’re calling it: This fall is all about throwbacks. So, whether you want to send your kiddos off with a warm and toasty sip (to follow their hearty before-school breakfast) or need something new to take to your family tailgate parties, these retro thermoses are up to the task. They come in a matching pair, too, so they’re great to share between siblings.

Fall is a great time to start new traditions, especially as a family. We happen to think that the fam that matches has the most delicious batches — so be it cinnamon rolls or spiced apple cider, slow cooker chili or butternut squash mac and cheese, whatever you’re cheffing up in the kitchen deserves head-to-toe tartan. Designed with an adjustable neck strap and long waist straps, your seconds-in-command can customize the fit just the way they like it. And the large front pocket is perfect for stashing all the cooking tools and gadgets they need in the kitchen.

Speaking of cool tools …. The orange version of the iconic Cuisinart handheld blender is already sitting in my cart. I haven’t bought it yet, because we already have their original immersion blender — but fall season, fall colors, it’s the rationale I’m sticking with! The lightweight stick blender is comfortable to use and easy enough for older kids and tweens to master (they just have to twist the bottom piece to release the beater for quick and easy cleaning, too). It features an effortless 1-touch operation to give you full control over your culinary creations, plus a safety button to keep the appliance from accidentally starting up.

Pumpkin and salted caramel anything certainly has its place in any home during the fall, but when you’ve had enough of the too-sweet aromas wafting through your hallways, this candle from Threshold is a breath of fresh air. We’re obsessed with the soothing fragrances of orange blossom and amber, and with its gold-lidded look, it’s bound to bring calming vibes to any room as it sits pretty on a shelf or side table. Bonus: The whole “blood orange” scent profile works for Halloween.

This greenery garland is totally unexpected (against a red, orange, yellow, and brown foliage palette), but we love it all the more. Adorned with faux olive leaves, the botanical banner brings a fresh touch of natural texture into your decor — and can be hung above the mantel, strung along hallways or doorways, or anywhere in your home that gives you those front porch decorating feels.

Autumnal, but make it a touch more artisanal. The smooth natural finish of this leaf-patterned and blade-accented tray adds a warm and rustic feel to your festive fall home. Place it as-is on your living room coffee table for a stunning centerpiece or let it be a useful catch-all in the kitchen — great for your keys, masks, hand sanitizing pods, etc.

And of course, what’s more fun than family movie nights under the stars? Freshly-popped popcorn or it didn’t happen. While most of the Fall Family Activities Collection from Hearth & Hand with Magnolia is only available in stores, you can still shop a few of the items online. Our pick comes with one big serving bowl with side handles and four small round bowls for individual snacking. The cream hue with allover black speckles makes the collection a darling addition to your dinnerware.

Instead of going all out with stoop-sitting skeletons or gauze stretched out over your shrubs (DIY spider webs, IYKYK), you might have more fun playing with these grinning little ghosts. The Halloween string lights feature 20 ghost-shaped reflectors arranged on a black wire that emit a constant light for an eerie, yet endearing display. No trick-or-treaters will be too spooked on your watch!
