I’ve been reviewing toys for 25 years, so I’ve seen a lot of innovation, and I’ve seen a lot of fads. Some years, a brand-new product line hits the scene with an obvious “wow,” like in 2016 when Hatchimals came out and the surprise-reveal genre exploded. Other years, there’s something a little bit out of left field that everyone seems to want, like 2024’s wall-climbing, remote-control gecko. This year, though, I’m seeing a heritage brand, LEGO, take everyone’s money thanks to the expansion of their widely popular, make-and-display Botanicals line.

The LEGO Botanical Collection debuted in 2021 and has grown and grown since then. (They even just launched a collaboration with floral subscription service The Bouqs Co.) There have been a few smaller Botanicals releases meant for children, but in 2025, LEGO Botanicals released the first and only bouquet for kids: the LEGO Petite Sunny Bouquet

Here’s why we’re calling the LEGO Petite Sunny Bouquet now as the hottest toy of 2025. Keep reading for why it’s so great, where to find it, and the hot toy we recommend for younger kids.

Why the LEGO Botanicals Petite Sunny Bouquet Is the Hottest Toy of 2025 for Big Kids

The LEGO Petite Sunny Bouquet, which is made for kids ages 9 and up, alerted my market-journalist radar because it hits so many sweet spots. It’s affordable and available pretty much everywhere. Also, it will appeal to so many different kids: LEGO fanatics, flower lovers, ones who like to craft, and those who love to do family activities.

Since the toy’s release in May, it’s continued to earn a majority of five-star ratings online across retailers. In their reviews, parents talk about how happy they are to watch their big kids sit and focus on this kit (which, for what it’s worth, took me about an hour total to complete.) “My 10-year-old and I built this bouquet together one quiet afternoon, and it turned out to be such a lovely bonding moment,” wrote one parent on the LEGO website. A grandparent on Amazon wrote, “My grandson put this together for me. So pretty and I am so proud of him!”

The Petite Sunny Bouquet set includes 10 flower stems. The first page of instructions teaches the names of the flowers to build, and shows photos of the real-life counterparts: bluebells, yellow yarrow, gerbera daisies, tulips, and more.

The build is soothing and can be a quiet, solo activity, or your tween can do it with a friend or family member. In the end, they’ll have a decoration they made themselves, a full bouquet that can rest in a bottle, glass, or vase.

Where to Buy the LEGO Botanicals Petite Sunny Bouquet

You can find the Petite Sunny Bouquet at all the mass merchants, including Amazon, Target, and Walmart, and, of course, at LEGO.com. You can also buy a special set of the toy alongside a real bouquet from bouqs.com as part of the aforementioned collab. I bought mine from Amazon, where it’s on sale as I write this.

The Petite Sunny Bouquet comes with 373 tiny pieces and — full disclosure — requires a detail-oriented build. The flowers are rather delicate, too, so I agree with the 9-and-up age grading. I was left with extra pieces, which might be to replace parts if any petals get knocked off — I noticed reviewers on Lego.com saying that they, too, had extras. Head’s up that the instructions are a little goofy, having you open bag 3 first followed by bag 1, for instance.

LEGO Botanicals for Kids to Buy if the Petite Sunny Bouquet Is Sold Out

If you can’t find the bouquet or if you’re looking to spend a little less, check out this little LEGO Botanicals Sunflowers kit; I’m in love with it. It also happens to be a serious bargain. When I bought it at a Walmart store, it cost me $14.97, but it’s under $10 if you buy it online.

Kids ages 8 and up can make two sturdy sunflowers out of the 191 pieces in this small kit. I tried it at home and it took me a half hour, most of which I spent attaching 24 petals to each of two circle pieces.

There are other LEGO Botanicals for kids, too, including lotus flowers, cherry blossoms, roses, and daffodils for ages 8 and up, as well as a set of two adorable planters for ages 9 and up, which are on Amazon’s 2025 Toys We Love list

The Hottest Toy of 2025 for Younger Kids

If you’ve got a younger kid who’s not quite ready for Botanicals, I’ve got another 2025 LEGO release in mind for them: the Bluey’s Family House LEGO set.

Capitalizing on the popularity of Bluey and Bluey toys (by kids and parents alike, let’s be real), Bluey’s Family House is both a LEGO build and a small playset that your kid can use to play pretend. It comes with all four members of the Heeler family, Bluey, Bingo, Chili, and Bandit (The dog-headed Minifigures are so cute!), as well as furniture for the house and a tree for the yard. Fun accessories also include Bluey’s favorite toy, Chattermax, plus a rubber ducky, teapot, and cupcake. It’s 382 pieces altogether, for ages 4 and up.

Where to Buy the LEGO Bluey’s Family House

Bluey’s Family House is also at all the mass merchants, including Amazon, Walmart, and Target, plus LEGO.com and The Disney Store. (I’ve seen it marked on sale in the big-box stores, most recently at Target, if you want to give it a go in-person.)

LEGO Sets for Young Kids to Buy if Bluey’s Family House Is Sold Out

LEGO offers great character sets for young kids, Bluey-themed and way beyond. These are some of my favorites for ages 1 to 7 (including DUPLO options for the toddler crowd), and they’re each earning five-star reviews online, too.

LEGO DUPLO Disney Winnie The Pooh’s Birthday Party Building Set
$20$16

Isn’t this the cutest set of DUPLO characters ever?! I love the sweet-looking Pooh, bouncy Tigger, and smiling Piglet, plus the honey pot. Bricks introduce the numbers 1, 2, and 3. These are age-graded for 18 months and up.

LEGO DUPLO Disney and Pixar Cars McQueen’s Visit to Doc’s Garage
$30

My youngest was a huge Cars fan and, to be honest, our whole family still quotes the movie regularly. It’s a classic! This DUPLO set comes with the main man, Lightning McQueen, as well as accessories for a pretend car wash or repair work.

$30 at Amazon
Lego Super Heroes Spidey vs. Green Goblin Set
$30$26

This Spidey option seems to be selling fast (Amazon keeps showing only a few in stock). It’s a sweet price point for a superhero set that includes three Minifigures — fan-favorite Spidey, Ghost-Spider, and Green Goblin — plus two vehicles, a golden web, and pumpkin projectiles.

$26 at Amazon
LEGO Animal Crossing Isabelle’s House Visit
$40$28

Animal Crossing LEGOs are based on the video game, and the animal-head Minifigures are a hoot. This set includes a little house, a vegetable garden, a mailbox, and more.

$28 at Amazon
LEGO Minecraft The Baby Pig House
$20$16

Minecraft-themed LEGOs are big with kids and with parents who want to see kids take their love of the game off of a screen for a second. The pig house set lends itself well to pretend play and is one of the few Minecraft sets for ages 7-plus and not older.
