IKEA’s New Under-$15 Table Lamp Looks Just Like Origami
IKEA certainly knows a thing or two about stylish yet affordable home basics. From cute kid beds to classic storage, the Swedish home retailer nails it every time it rolls out a new collection. Its latest table lamp has a pleated design that recalls one of our other favorite table lamps — but in this case, you can’t beat the $15 price tag!
What Is the IKEA KUDDLAVA?
The KUDDLAVA lamp from IKEA is an 11-inch-tall lamp that has both a pleated base and shade. It resembles paper origami, but it’s made of plastic (half of which is actually made from recycled materials). At the top is a decorative knob made from solid wood, and the lamp comes with a matching white cord with a basic on/off toggle switch.
If this lamp looks familiar, it may be because you’ve seen a similar lamp at H&M. The Pleated Paper Table Lamp, which is currently on sale for just under $35, looks similar to the KUDDLAVA but it’s actually made from pleated paper rather than plastic. The H&M version also comes in four different colors, including this light baby pink.
Because it’s actually made of paper, reviewers note that this lamp is a bit on the fragile side, which means the KUDDLAVA could be a better pick if you’re afraid of squashing the pleats while setting the lamp up.
The KUDDLAVA is brand-new to IKEA’s website, so there aren’t any reviews yet. But with IKEA’s track record for excellent lighting, it’s fair to assume that the KUDDLAVA will be racking up five stars sooner rather than later. Grab it for just $14.99 at IKEA right now to be one of the first to try the pleated KUDDLAVA lamp and add yet another statement lamp from IKEA to your growing collection!
