I am slightly obsessed with IKEA — especially its lighting selection! The Swedish superstore is always my first stop when I’m on the hunt for a cute new lamp or a fashionable fixture that won’t break the bank.

So when I first caught a flash of this pretty pastel pink in IKEA’s lighting section, I quickly realized that it wasn’t an entirely new addition after all — but rather, a classic design that had gotten a seriously stylish makeover. Allow me to reintroduce you to IKEA’s FADO table lamp … in pink!

What Is the IKEA FADO Table Lamp?

As I said, IKEA’s FADO table lamp design is not entirely new. TikTok fell in love with the vintage-inspired piece a few years ago, and we’ve been FADO fans ever since. The simple globe silhouette is classic and goes with just about everything — and the milky glass shade softly diffuses light to create the coziest vibe. While it was formerly available only in a simple white shade, this new version introduces a subtle pop of color that I find simply irresistible.

Even better, each piece has its own pattern because the glass shades are actually handblown by skilled craftspeople! It’s not often you’re able to find a handcrafted gem like this — especially at big-box retailers like IKEA. And because it’s priced at just under $30, you’d be hard-pressed to find another handmade glass lamp for less anywhere else.

Why We’re into It

While it might not be the most dramatic redesign, I think the addition of the pink patterned glass is such a fun and stylish touch; it transforms the classic FADO lamp from a simple staple to a stylish statement piece. The new colorful detail calls to mind the glass mushroom lamp trend of the early 2020s, but with a definitively more contemporary twist.

While the FADO on its own is super versatile, we’ve also seen the plain white version used in several IKEA lighting hacks over the years. I can only imagine that this new pastel pink version would work just as well for the more colorfully inclined DIYers among us.

Once again, this lamp proves that just about anything can be improved with a little pop of pink. I can’t wait to see how my fellow IKEA fans style this one — and I really can’t wait to snag one for myself!
