I’ve Had the Hulala Home Nursery Power Recliner for 2 Years, and It’s the Best Thing in My Daughter’s Room
I foolishly decided that I didn’t need a nursery glider as I prepared for the birth of my first daughter in 2019. At the time, I thought nursery gliders were too big and bulky, and that they definitely did not fit my aesthetic vision. Instead, I bought a beautiful classic rocking chair from a woman at a citywide garage sale who had used it with her babies, and she cried when she sold it to me. Fast-forward to an unexpected pandemic, during which I spent hours upon hours in the nursery sitting in that chair, terribly uncomfortable and not able to switch it out because furniture was hard to come by at the time. It’s safe to say I regretted my choice.
When I got pregnant with my second daughter in 2024, I decided I was going to get it right this time (well, the nursery chair anyway). I looked at all sorts of nursery gliders in stores and online. I wanted something somewhat stylish, stain-resistant, and that had a charging station. I finally landed on the Hulala Nursery Power Recliner because it was relatively affordable, had an interesting shape (it didn’t look just like a clunky recliner), and had the reclining and plug-in features I wanted. But, I gotta admit that I was nervous about this one.
There weren’t a lot of published reviews on Hulala Home furniture (a direct-to-consumer furniture brand based in Fort Worth, Texas), and I had come across Reddit threads featuring nervous members who were unsure about the brand because there was a lack of evidence about it on the internet. But I held my breath and decided to go through with it. Spoiler alert: I’m very glad I did.

Design Features That Stand Out
When I put the glider in the nursery and unwrapped all of the packaging, I couldn’t get over how soft and pretty the fabric was. Though the fabric content is 100 percent polyester, the white model I chose mimics boucle fabric, which gives it a cozy vibe.
Another standout feature is the adjustability of the backrest and footrest. They are powered via the buttons located below the armrest and extend at the same time — meaning you only have one button to fiddle with in the complete darkness of a 3 a.m. feeding. The USB charging port is hidden underneath the armrest, but still convenient enough to find during a feeding or rocking session. This feature in particular has been great for charging my AirPods when I want to listen to a podcast or just ambient noise while nursing or rocking my baby.
The glider also has CPSC (consumer product safety commission) certification, which means that it has passed a certified safety test from a third-party for children’s product safety regulation.
How It Performed
Because I was going into this nursery glider without ever having seen it IRL (and without many reviews!), I was a bit skeptical of how it would perform and the longevity of the chair. But after two years of owning this glider, I have to say that I’m thoroughly impressed with how comfortable, pretty, and convenient this chair is.
I’ve slept in this chair on multiple occasions (long, long nights when my baby got the stomach bug), and it’s surprisingly comfortable enough to not feel terrible in the morning. I’ve spent hundreds of hours nursing, rocking, and reading books to my now-toddler in it, and I can easily say it’s one of our favorite spots in her room.
The power adjustable backrest and footrest buttons work just as well as they did on day one, without any squeaking or electrical issues. And the USB charging port and the pockets on the side of the chair are lifesavers when you’re feeding every few hours in the middle of the night in those early days and you need supplies like headphones, snacks, and a charged phone to keep you awake.
Lastly, for a nursery glider, I actually think it’s pretty cute! The Hulala Nursery Power Recliner marries a whole lot of comfort with a good amount of style — the exact combination I was looking for.
What we love
- It’s incredibly comfortable.
- It’s easy to clean — my kids have colored on it with chalk and spilled some mystery substances on it, and it still looks pretty good after two years. I mean, it’s a WHITE chair in a nursery. So, that’s a big deal.
- The durable power footrest/backrest. It’s been two years and it still functions just as well as when I had it the first day.
- It’s got pockets for books, bottles, and any other thing you might need.
- The armrests and headrest can be adjusted. We especially love being able to flatten the armrest because my older daughter sometimes likes to sit in on her sister’s story time, and this means there’s a spot just for her.
