Labubus may have been the fad of the summer (and, let’s be real, Halloween costumes too), but the popular toys sold by Chinese company Pop Mart may be old news by the time you’re wrapping gifts for the holidays this year. CNBC reported that resale prices for Labubus are plummeting, which indicates a cooling demand for the little monsters.

But that doesn’t mean the kids in your life are done with doll-like plushies or bag charms for good. In fact, tons of brands are stepping up with their own takes on smaller soft creatures, with many even sold in the “blind boxes” that made Labubus so intriguing. (ICYMI, some of the most coveted Labubus were sold in boxes that concealed the characters inside until you opened them.)

These Labubu alternatives — not Lafufus! — are just as small, quirky, cool, and collectable as the original viral toy (and, let’s be real, probably cooler).

Squishmallows MicroMallows Blinds
$5

If your child is already a Squishmallow fan, you know the appeal of these extremely malleable stuffies. Unlike their bigger counterparts, these 2.5-inch MicroMallows come in blind packages so kids can get the thrill of unwrapping them to uncover their squishy score. The miniatures come in 24 different designs, from unicorns and frogs to kiwis and toast. The plastic containers also snap together to double as a display item. Too cute!

Jellycat Amuseables Sun Bag Charm
$29

Jellycats need no introduction, and these bag charms don’t disappoint. They feature designs like cherries, bears, croissants, and grumpy turtles. Kids (or adults!) can clip these 5- to 6-inch-tall toys onto any bag or backpack to add some personality to their go-to tote. Although they’re on the pricier side, the brand is known to be high-quality and well-made.

HACIPUPU Gummy Bear Series-Vinyl Plush Pendant Blind Box
$28

Made by the same brand as Labubus, these PopMart Hacipupu Gummy Bears are plush pendant dolls dressed as furry bears. They are the size of a standard smartphone, and the six standard figures feature a variety of colors and each smell like a different fruit (peach, green apple, pineapple, blueberry, grape, and cherry). If you’re lucky, you might score a special latte-flavored bear, which only appears in one in every 72 boxes sold.

Fuggler Baby Fuggs, 3-Pack
$36

Cute toys are fun and all, but quirky is all the rage these days. And these small plush monsters are certainly packed with personality. (Why is it so easy to imagine them breaking into my pantry at home and going to town on my kids’ snacks?) Each purchase comes in a random three-pack, so you’ll have to gamble to see how quickly you can round out the entire set of 12 (but that’s all part of the fun!). The 3.5-inch-tall figures feature life-like teeth and make noises that sound like a cross between a fart and a growl.

Bao-ao Goodnight Baby Series Plush Doll Blind Box
$25

Each blind box package contains one of six little pacifier-wielding babies, either in cream, butter yellow, light green, baby pink, light purple, or baby blue. Once you complete the set, you can also move onto other Bao-ao series, like the Garden Fairies or Forest Friends.

Fluffy Meatball V2 Vinyl Plush Dolls Blind Box
$34

Similar to some of the others on this list, Fluffy Meatball plushies distinguish themselves by their baby faces inside animal costumes (dinosaur, fox, unicorn) with fluffy tails. The whole set consists of eight creatures, and they — of course — boost the fun by using the blind box method. The joyful faces on the characters make them especially adorable.

Mini Toffee the Highland Cow
$40

Eugene the Elephant, Shelly the Turtle, Scotti the Highland Cow, and Sid the Sloth are special compared to other plushies because they’re small in stature (8 inches), heavier in weight (2 pounds), and can be warmed in the microwave (for a comfort hug) or chilled in the freezer (for a cooling touch). These animals are great for anyone, but are geared toward providing comfort for those who have mood or anxiety disorders, sensory conditions, or neurodevelopmental disorders.

Pucky Beanie Bubble Up Series Plush Pendant Blind Box
$19

Standing 3.5 inches tall, these little figures come in six designs with one additional “secret” figurine in circulation too. (They’re sold as blind boxes, but you can also purchase a complete set with the six originals, which is a nice perk.) Each has its own personality (angry, smug, sleepy, sweet) and comes outfitted with a key ring to hang from a bag. Stressed? Give yours a little squeeze, and the bubble at its mouth will inflate.

Official Lulu The Piggy Blind Box
$27$23

It’s a pig dressed up in a plush bear or bunny consume — what’s not to love? These are sold in blind boxes, and there are six that make up the whole set, plus a special edition (your chances of unboxing one are 3 in 96) and a secret edition (1 in 96), which adds to the fun. You can clip these onto a bag or just cuddle their soft fur and squishy bodies.

Hello Kitty Cheerleader Mascot Clip
$27$20

Some might say Hello Kitty walked so Labubu could run, but this classic is due for a comeback. These clippable plushies range from 4 to about 8 inches tall, which makes them a bolder statement than a lot of other keychain options out there. You can choose from a range of Hello Kitty costumes including carhop, soccer, school uniform, and cheerleader, or opt for one of the other SanRio characters like Pompompurin, Cinnamoroll, or Pochacco.

Pop Mart Skullpanda Blind Box Figure
$20

Okay, these aren’t plush, but Skullpandas have built a cult following of enthusiastic collectors. These figurines have a Precious Moments (remember those?) porcelain vibe, although they’re made of more durable PVC. There are a whopping 12 designs in the Warmth collection (and more in other Skullpanda series), which makes sourcing a full set more of an exciting challenge for hobbyists. Each character is cute and whimsical, which is ideal for either display or play.

Aurora Palm Pals Juicy Strawberry Clip-On
$11

Aurora plushies are a more affordable (but equally snuggly) alternative to Jellycats. With this collection, they’ve been shrunken down into minis with a keychain clip attached, and they’ll run you less than $10 (a great stocking stuffer!). Choose from anything from animals (panda, capybara, cow, axolotl), to food items (boba tea, strawberry, avocado), to sports gear like footballs.

A cute alternative to bag charms, the Baby Three scrunchie series features eight characters meant to be worn around your wrist or in your hair attached to a scrunchie.
