Every now and then, we’ll find out that the packaging of a popular food has a helpful feature that may not be immediately obvious. For example, if you rotate a soda tab it doubles as a straw holder. And for Tic Tac users, there’s an indentation on the lid that perfectly holds and dispenses a single mint. Interesting, right? Well, we were today years old when we found out that French’s Mustard lids have a secret feature, too: a nub that holds the cap open.

In a YouTube video, Chris Notap demonstrates some common pitfalls that happen when putting mustard on a sandwich. “You make your favorite sandwich; you get your chicken out, you get your cucumber, and then you get the mustard and it pours all over the lid, or it drags through and rips everything off.” Super frustrating, right? Well, thanks to this feature, you’ll never have that problem again.

Notap points out a nub located behind the lid, then pushes back the lid and locks it into place with a satisfying click. He shows it again in slo-mo, twice, as our minds are being blown. “And now no mess, no fuss, and life is good again,” he says. Now we can all use French’s Mustard as the manufacturer intended. Take a look at the video demonstrating the mind-blowing feature below.
