We only have a couple of loose “rules” for stocking stuffers. They should be relatively inexpensive, not compete with main holiday gifts, and be small enough to fit in a stocking. There have been times when we’ve goofed up and had to sit a stocking on the ground and pile our too-large gifts around it. But that doesn’t have the same charm as a hung stocking that is filled with the classics — some candy, maybe a cute pen or two, and definitely one of the little surprises below.

This list is full of stocking stuffers like delightful trinkets, fun games, crafts that will give your kid something fun to do on the holiday, and beyond. All should fit in a stocking, although I might recommend you hang a fairly large one!

Our Top Pick
