How To Make Pecan Pie: The Easiest Method for the Best Result

With holidays right around the corner, you may already be getting a start on planning this year’s menu. Jocelyn Delk Adams is giving you the dessert hack of a lifetime a little early. And trust me, this is one you’re going to want keep going way past the upcoming holiday season.

Taking to her Instagram account, @grandbabycakes, the beloved baker released her new recipe a 3-in-1 sheet pan pie! Yes, you read that right — sheet pan pie. “For the indecisive pie lover, I’ve got you covered boo [with] my 3 in 1 SHEET PAN PIE,” the caption for the post reads.

According to Jocelyn, the pie — which includes sweet potato pie, pecan pie, and pumpkin pie all baked together in on one sheet — came about because for this year’s Thanksgiving festivities, she planned on actually enjoying her holiday season instead of churning out multiple pies for everyone in her family. Stating on her blog that this “tri-pie sheet pan pie recipe is just what this hectic, over-the-top year called for,” the baker notes that this will cut down on all the work that pies take for the holiday season.

While this sheet-pan pie recipe is a gem of a hack in itself, Jocelyn also adds in another impressive and time-saving tip: using store-bought crust instead of making your own. “No need to cube cold butter or pull a muscle rolling out dough, just pick up a couple packages of your preferred frozen aisle variety,” she says. And what if you can’t get your hands on any frozen pie crust this holiday season? Puff pastry works just fine, too!

Now for those of you who aren’t fans of sweet potato pie, pecan pie, or pumpkin pie, don’t fret. This recipe can work well with any trio of pie favorites. After you’ve made your 3-in-1 sheet pan pie, however, Jocelyn suggest cutting any leftovers into pre-portioned squares for easy post-Thanksgiving access and using an oven (conventional or toaster) to reheat for the best quality.
