This Gorgeous Cool Mist Humidifier Is the Best One I’ve Ever Found, and Perfect for a Nursery
Welcome to Cubby ❤️, our series where we share the awesome parent-approved products we personally use and recommend 100%.
It’s the same thing every year: The days get shorter, the weather colder, and a few weeks into fall, my skin starts to feel woefully dry and itchy. Humidifier Season has begun, so I dust off the humidifier that’s been hanging out in the basement or pick up a new one, hoping it’ll be different, better somehow.
So, when a friend told me about the vitruvi Cloud Humidifier, I was intrigued. It was certainly the most beautiful humidifier I had ever seen, but it was also one of the most expensive. I was curious about what made it different, so curious in fact that I decided to invest in one, and here’s how I feel about it so far.
Why I Love Vitruvi’s Cloud Humidifier
Though the vitruvi Cloud Humidifier costs more than double what I typically spend on a humidifier, I decided I was ready to level up with what I am hoping will be my forever humidifier. I chose the vitruvi Cloud Humidifier, first and foremost, because it’s beautiful. It’s not the kind of thing that would have mattered to me 10 years ago, but now it just feels nice to have something that’s so well-designed in my home. If I’m going to look at it every day, it should be lovely.
But beyond aesthetics, I chose this humidifier because of two important features:
- It can be set to a Night Mode in which the humidifier’s lights turn off, meaning I won’t be awakened in the middle of the night because of a little red dot in the corner of the room.
- It’s also whisper-quiet, meaning I don’t have to worry about that weird gurgling noise humidifiers sometimes make. I wanted a humidifier that would improve air quality without contributing to light or noise that might disturb my sleep, and this one seemed like the humidifier to do it.
As I suspected, I really appreciated the look of the humidifier, as well as its noise- and light-canceling features. But I also love how easy the device is to refill. The removable water bucket is lightweight and includes a max-fill line to show me exactly how much to fill it up. And maybe my favorite feature is that, once I’ve spent a few nights running the humidifier, I can pop the bucket in the dishwasher to get it clean and sanitized.
I also appreciate how nimble and lightweight this humidifier is. I’ve had some that were downright clunky, but this one is so lithe I can (and sometimes do) bring it down to the living room during the day to provide a little humidity for my many, many houseplants.
And, so far at least, it feels like it’s doing its job. Since using the humidifier, I haven’t been plagued by dry, itchy skin. The air just feels better with the humidifier running. It’s hard to describe, but it’s a noticeable difference for the better. My only quibble with this humidifier is a small one: As it starts to run out of water, you can hear a very soft burbling sound. It’s not like the loud humidifiers I’ve had in the past. It sounds more like a water feature than a small appliance. But I’m a light sleeper (perhaps you’ve guessed that by now?), and any slight noise is usually enough to wake me.
Need a Really Nice Gift for New Parents? This Is It!
Hopefully, I won’t need to buy this humidifier again, as I’m optimistic that it will last for years to come, but theoretically, I would. And what’s more, I would absolutely recommend it for new parents who are looking for a beautiful, quiet humidifier for their nursery. The Cloud Humidifier uses ultrasonic technology to produce a cool mist, meaning there are no heated elements to worry about, and there aren’t a lot of bells and whistles for small children to be attracted to and mess with as they become more mobile. It’s also one of those timeless purchases that will grow with your kid, since all ages can benefit from humidified air!
