Black Friday and Cyber Monday might be over, but the holiday shopping season is still in full swing. If you’re looking for a fun stocking stuffer or a small gift for a kid this holiday season, TikTok might have the answer for you. Right now a colorful star-shaped fidget toy is trending on the app, and people can’t get over how captivating it is.

The text overlay on this video from TikTok user @heatheratl says it all: “The way this fidget just scratches an itch in my brain.” Heather demonstrates the many different ways you can manipulate the toy, and it’s so satisfying to watch!

Fidget toys can be great gifts because not only are they typically affordable (this one on Etsy is $12 on sale), but they can also help both children and adults with self-regulation and concentration.

“I got it as a gift, but I literally just want to keep it for myself,” says TikTok user @juliepreece2.0. Julie also mentions that the toy is made by a 3D printer, and comments on how “you can’t put it down.”

Funny enough, I actually already have this fidget toy at home. When my mom was visiting family in Florida a little while ago, she saw the toy on my cousin’s desk and thought my 5-year-old son would love it — and she was right. Whenever he plays with it, he’s absolutely entranced by it. It did recently break, however (one layer came off), but it’s still usable and he seems unbothered by it.

It’s also worth noting that there are quite a few comments from teachers about the noise this fidget toy makes, so this might be a good one to just keep at home or in the car.

“I don’t know why I’m so mesmerized by this fidget toy, but I am,” says TikTok user @tonyam28, who also notes that anyone who receives this toy as a gift will “play with it for hours” — a parent’s dream!
