You Have to See Sofia Richie Grainge’s Nursery Before and After (It Feels Like Floating on a Cloud!)
Sofia Richie Grainge’s new nursery is a soft, ethereal escape. Designed for her son, Henry, whom she and husband Elliot Grainge, CEO of Atlantic Records, welcomed on March 18, the room feels like floating on a cloud high above Los Angeles. Sofia, who is also mom to Henry’s big sister Eloise (born in 2024), captioned the sweet space, “Henry’s corner of the world 🩵,” in a Reel that shows a brief glimpse into the room’s transformation, from bare walls and drop cloths to a minimalist, peaceful oasis.
A clear acrylic crib seems to levitate in one corner, next to a pedestal table featuring a framed image of the baby’s first footprints. A window seat features enviable storage below — including a pickup truck shaped basket that holds a light blue Scandinavian knot pillow. And while the newborn may currently be better suited to the tummy time mat, complete with a stuffy collection, his nursery does feature a retro-style toy car customized with the Grainge family name, ready for zooming around when he is.
The pale walls and gauzy curtains drew tons of praise in the comments (“so much light and beauty” shared one commenter; “so pretty, love the muted color palette,” wrote another). The neutral space does offer a few pops of color, thanks to a Montessori-inspired book wall filled with beloved books like Giraffes Can’t Dance, Where’s the Penguin?, and Little Blue Truck among them.
A navy blue glider and a blue-and-aqua Hermès pillow add richer pops of color. And the arched alcove daybed nook, framed by soft millwork, is punctuated by a blue and white Hermès blanket (“H” is also for Henry, after all!). The cloud-painted wall behind it creates a calm, cocoon-like spot that feels made for late-night feedings.
The fabrics and finishings vary, too, from the feathery white pendant above to the soft, low-pile rug below, making for a layered look. As one commenter points out: “I love all the different textures 🔥”. The result? It’s polished, but not overly precious. It’s more like a nursery that’s meant to be used, not just looked at (even if everyone on Instagram — myself included — is taking a closer look!).
