If you’re like me, baskets are your go-to home accessory. I use them for obvious things like storage but also as planters, to hide cheap thrift store vases that hold my weekly Trader Joe’s flowers, and I even have a few shallow basket trays for organizing all my bar essentials. While I’m not opposed to splurging on a unique artisanal basket, some more expensive styles from big box retailers just aren’t worth the cost. Enter IKEA.

Many IKEA baskets are made from quality materials, with a durable construction that ensures they’re sturdy enough for years of use. I tend to rotate mine out a lot, too: One month I’ll use a basket to store my current crochet project, and then the next I’ll use it to hide a plant pot that doesn’t match my space. In every city and apartment I’ve lived in, I always have at least one FLÅDIS seagrass basket on hand (which is also great for storing toys). I’ve also seen the popular $30 SNIDAD basket converted into a DIY coffee table.

IKEA recently introduced a new style to the mix  — the HÖKRUBBA basket. I love the functional bowl shape, chic, shallow silhouette, and oversized pink handles. At $15, you can use it in your closet to store scarves and beanies, on a dresser for your growing collection of claw clips (IYKYK), or on your entryway table as a catch-all dish. I also love the idea of turning this into a fruit basket or filling it with mini pumpkins and gourds.

This fall, I’m planning to use the HÖKRUBBA basket as part of my tablescape centerpiece filled with extra large pinecones clustered together. And, come winter, I might add some evergreen sprigs and twinkle lights to make it all the more festive. Either way, I’m excited to restyle this IKEA find year-round!
