How You Can Help the People of Ukraine Right Now

At this point in Russia’s invasion of Ukraine over 1.5 million people have left their homes and fled to surrounding countries. Many more are expected to leave, while others remain in shelters within the country. We don’t yet know how many homes have been destroyed. But I think every one of us can imagine what these families must be experiencing.

There are many ways you can help. Here are a few of the organizations providing immediate and critical assistance to Ukrainians.

Donate to help provide water, food, hygiene kits, psychosocial support, and cash assistance for Ukrainian families — prioritizing women and girls, families, and the elderly.

This grassroots effort works to raise awareness of the humanitarian crisis and to raise funds for Ukrainian families and children who have been displaced by the war.

This organization is providing emergency medical and mental services as well as other assistance to refugees of the conflict.

ICRC is working to help Ukrainians affected by the war access clean water and improve their living conditions.

IRC is working to provide food, medical care and emergency support services to refugee families in countries like Ukraine, Afghanistan, Syria, and Yemen.

MSF is providing emergency medical supplies and is preparing to provide surgical care, emergency medicine, and mental health support for displaced people.

Save the Children provides children and families with immediate aid, such as food, water, hygiene kits, psychosocial support, and cash assistance. 

This organization provides tactical support for the Ukrainian armed forces.

This NGO is providing health, nutrition, education, safe drinking water, sanitation, and protection for children and families caught in the conflict in Ukraine.

This NGO is providing food assistance for Ukrainian refugees.

This organization is providing psychological and psychosocial support to children affected by the war in Ukraine.

Vostok SOS is providing evacuation support to those fleeing the violence.

Founded by chef José Andrés, WCK is serving hot, nourishing meals at several border crossings across Ukraine. They are also supporting local restaurants preparing meals in eight Ukrainian cities, and are continuing to expand their services throughout the affected region.
