Move over, home offices. There’s a new feature that homeowners are adding.

Meet “the Costco door.” It’s a simple but brilliant concept that’s going viral on TikTok and Instagram. What makes it so special? It’s a door in your garage that connects directly to your pantry, allowing you to move your grocery bags in the shortest distance needed.

For anyone who buys in bulk at retailers like Costco — hence the name — you know the feeling (and struggle) of having to carry your groceries through the kitchen to reach the pantry, then go back to the garage again to fetch the other bags.

With the Costco door, you’ll save both time and effort.

There’s also a larger version. In the following video, user @stephaniebuildsit walks through a massive pantry with a regular-sized door as its Costco door. She warns, though, that the larger version would only be apt for large pantries, because in a small pantry, the door would only take up space intended for shelving and storage.

It’s not for all since Costco doors require a garage next to a kitchen (sorry, apartment dwellers), but for those who can install one, it’s so helpful. For instance, it benefits senior citizens and people with disabilities. For others, it could prevent aches and pains in the long term.

“There’s nothing I hate more than carrying heavy bags upstairs,” reads one comment. “This would be great for my back pain.” And, as some users noted, it could also serve as a fire escape or a secret door to a safe room. “Perfect for a quick escape in case of intruders,” said one user, while another added: “It could lead to a safe room as well if it’s positioned correctly.”

But don’t forget to close your Costco door, you won’t want raccoons to use it as free entrance to an all-you-can-eat-buffet.
