I don’t have a shower with a glass door, so I don’t keep a squeegee around to remove excess water after showering. I do, however, find myself persistently annoyed with the constant moisture (and resulting not-so-fresh smell) that accumulates in my standalone shower.

That’s why I was so overjoyed to find this BOOMJOY brush-and-squeegee combo while browsing Amazon. The basic idea is that a bigger brush with a longer, adjustable handle allows you to more easily clean your entire shower.

Here’s what one ecstatic Amazon reviewer had to say: “I have used small brushes for my entire life and every time I clean the bathtub or shower I’m spent for hours with my back hurting like crazy. This brush is a lifesaver and makes cleaning so much easier.”

And this was just one of the more than 4,000 5-star reviews. I was super eager to try it, so I took to the bathroom to find out whether it would live up to the hype.

My shower was in dire need of a scrub-down, so I ran the water to get the floor wet and squirted a bit of soap on the surface. Once some soapy water accumulated on the shower floor, I scrubbed away the grime with the brush. Super easy and effective! Although, I will say it’s more of a broad stroke effect; you may still need a smaller brush for detail cleaning or working on crevices.

Then, the part I was most looking forward to: using the squeegee side. I’ve never seen my shower so dry! It was so easy to push the remaining water down the drain, and way less annoying than getting on your hands and knees with a smaller squeegee.

I plan to keep it in the corner of my shower (or hang it on a Command hook!) for everyday maintenance. And next time the shower walls need a deep clean, I’ll just shorten the brush! Easy as pie.
