It might not seem like a big milestone, perhaps, but it’s a big deal to learn to sit at a table. It takes a while before our kids can sit at adult-sized tables without help, so it can be delightful to find a table and chairs just their size.

Design has come a long way since my childhood days, and the tables and chairs no longer come solely in primary colors. I’ve rounded up some pint-sized tables, perfect for the little ones in your life — and I’ve even included the kids’ table and chair set I bought for my daughter and that we all love. (Hint: it’s this one from Tender Leaf Toys!)

Whether you’re looking to keep it simple and affordable, or want something more eye-catching (and perhaps more of a financial investment), there’s something here for you. Any of these would work well in a playroom, kids’ bedroom, or even your dining room.

The Tot
$219.99

The Best Kids' Table and Chair Set with Storage

This table currently lives just between my living and dining room, so I’m obviously a fan. I love the cute animal chairs, the neutral palette, and, perhaps most of all, I love the storage compartment where I can whisk away whatever happens to be on the table.

IKEA
$49.99

The Best IKEA Kids' Table and Chair Set

This cute, simple set is a classic for a reason. It has all the charm you’re looking for, with a white pine frame and white foiled, easy-clean top, while being affordable and minimalist.

The Best Kids' Folding Table and Chair Set

If your space is at a premium, or you don’t use a play table often, a folding table and chairs might be ideal. This set is nice and neutral and designed with safety in mind, perfect for impromptu game nights.

Maisonette
$139.99

For style and function without breaking the bank, it’s hard to beat this minimalist set. The rounded corners add both a safety element and elegance, and the white and blonde wood combo is both timeless and right in style.

Pottery Barn Kids
$149.00

This table and chairs (coordinating, but sold separately) is just as much at home in a small child’s room as a bigger kid’s space. The classic design makes it a little replica of a table you might already own (or want to).

Pottery Barn Kids
$199.00

Choose from four finishes for this generously sized table, perfect for multiple family members, or just spreading out for an art project. Like some of the others in this list, chairs coordinate, but are sold separately. Take the opportunity to mix and match for an eclectic look, or keep it classic with matching chairs.

Lalo
$270.00
was $330.00

This stunning set has a 1960s retro feel, without being anything other than modern. Although my favorite is this finish, the chairs and table legs also come in black, light pink, and faded blue to fit into your space and color scheme. It’s perfect for play dates, sibling bonding, or, as my daughter says, finishing up her emails.

The Tot
$420.00

It’s just impossible not to smile when I see this table. You can certainly choose one of the neutral options, but if you’re looking for a pop of color, these pieces are tasteful and fun for kids and adults. Choose from the coordinarting chairs with acrylic backs in coordinating colors, or stools.

West Elm
$695.00

This wide table offers plenty of play space, with some thoughtful edges to catch the occasional flying object. I love that the stools can fit under the table when not in use, as well as the smooth, blonde wood. These are also seats that work well for adults, which is a great selling point for me.

Maisonette
$664.00

This set is the result of countless hours of attention to the ways kids use furniture; it's a beautiful, functional set that encourages play and interaction, while also fitting in beautifully to your adult spaces. Although many of the sets on this list qualify, this one might be the best pairing for a Montessori- or Waldorf-inspired setup. I love it for the lack of exposed fastenings, the gorgeous look, and the enclosed sides of the chairs.
